House Appropriations Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen introduced a continuing resolution (CR) to extend government funding and the EB-5 Regional Center Program until March 23, 2018, which was later passed by Congress.
This leaves Congressional negotiators a few more weeks to come to a conclusion of EB-5 negotiations and ensure it can be attached to long-term appropriations legislation. Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues towards reform via the regulatory process that would severely impact the viability of the program for individual investors.
What does this mean for the individual to whom a Green Card is important to themselves and their family?
The very simple answer is do not delay as we know what the law is today, but we do not know what the law will be after March 23rd. We fear that DHS could introduce regulations any day that could impact the investors ability to obtain a Green Card for themselves and their family with one $500,000 qualified investment.
